Food sensitivities, allergies and other dietary restrictions are much more common than they used to be.
I share suggestions and strategies for those hosting parties with guests that have food needs and for those that have dietary restrictions. I asked for input from those with dietary restrictions what they were most stressed or concerned about as they attend gatherings, what strategies they employ and what they might want people to know as they gather this holiday season or any other food sharing event.
It can feel challenging for both the hosts and the attendees when food restrictions come into play. I’ll talk about many things but open communication is key from both sides.
Seasoned or newbie to food restrictions can be a process as we figure out how to make things as easy as possible. I hope you find some ideas or greater understanding that help make food challenges less daunting.

I’m also happy to speak individually or to a group about:
- The difference between food allergies, sensitivities and Celiac Disease.
- Food allergy safety training for anyone who serves food – i.e., restaurants, catering, church groups, etc.
