I LOVE to see this!  A direct action that exemplifies preventative care as well as whole person minded care.

Sarah Tarkington  – Wellness Manager for NorthLakes Community Clinics and Lesley Burg – mental health therapist at NorthLakes share about the Farm to Patient program at the clinics.

Sarah shares how this program gives patient’s access to local farm fresh food, information and support on how to use and maximize their shares. They have been creative in figuring out HOW to help people have access directly, but then to also look to having a greater ripple effect in the community beyond those folks in the program.

Lesley talks about the many ways she sees the program feeding and improving people’s mental well being on many levels that we don’t often address: social aspects, self efficacy, improving depression and anxiety, etc.

Their Vision  – Healthy prosperous engaged communities where everyone thrives.

What a great concept! They are taking action to help support and shift what is around them well beyond the clinic walls.

Scattered in our conversation you’ll find some great ideas and reminders for ourselves to encourage us to eat well… “well” meaning more than just the food we consume… and who doesn’t need THAT occasionally, right?
